An exploration of life.

Richard Grenier Attained an undergraduate degree from The University of Arizona’s Medical School; a Bachelors Degree of Health Science, in Human Physiology with emphasis on Cellular & Immune System Physiology, in 2016. In the Summer and Winter semesters, I kept busy, studying for a minor in Psychology.

Post-Graduation, I became an EMT in 2017 and acquired over 6000 registered hours of 911 field experience with McCormick Ambulance, responding with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Mutual Aid with LA City and Ventura County, and attained specialist training to perform Helicopter Intercept Rescues for trauma patients and aid with Search & Rescue.

With this first-hand experience, I then became a Clinical Instructor for UCLA’s Center for Prehospital Care, in 2018, to become an educator and train future EMT’s, Paramedics, Firefighters, Police Officers and conduct N95 mask-fit testing (pre-COVID) as part of the curriculum. I was a BLS Instructor (CPR) for the American Heart Association where I re-certified and trained doctors, nurses, and lay-rescuers alike in the UCLA Ronald Reagan Hospital. A member of the Nation Association of Emergency Medical Educators. And certified with the American College of Surgeons to train how to ‘Stop the Bleed’ in life-threatening emergencies.

In 2019 I became a SetMedic & Lifeguard for production on all sizes, and made friends. With the escalation of the COVID pandemic, I transitioned into the role of a Health & Safety Supervisor with the inquiry of producers and department heads of various productions, in July of 2020.

I have subsequently specialized in the world of Virtual Production & Motion Capture. I was the Lead Health & Safety Officer and SetMedic for Motion Capture for specific projects at various stages, such as ‘Digital Domain’, ‘Activision’, ‘Rouge MoCap, and ‘Electronic Arts’ and had to wear many hats. I Conducted meetings to understand work flow of each department and Integrate industry guidelines such as “A Safe Way Forward” into daily lives to keep a safe and healthy Cast & Crew. I have had to invent my own COVID tracker via google sheets, to be submitted to SAG and Client to show proof of guideline adherence, track daily administered tests and produce accurate cost estimates.

I am currently looking for the next step, utilizing knowledge acquired in the workflow of virtual production. I have a learning mindset and keep a positive attitude. I am diligent in my daily life, take care of my body through various workouts and training.

I hope to do my part in an industry I have grown to love, and have dreams of creating my own movie one day.
